CONSTITUITION PART C

Does the 14th combined with the earlier "no religious test" clause guarantee a vision of a diverse and equitable society with no government discrimination?

the fourteenth amendment states that there can’t be laws made to go against the lives, liberty, and property of citizens, and the no religious test clause states that a person’s religion wont stop them from being able to hold a spot in office in the United States. this amendment was mad for the black slaves to be equal to every body even the white slave owners. the only people that the amendment didnt take care was the females. but later on it did.

Amendments 12, 13, 14, & 15 are often referred to as a major turning point in US government policy. Explain the importance of these amendments

these 4 amendments were very important to america an slavery at the time. this an the civial rights movement was a big push for blacks equality. the 14th amendment which states that laws can’t be made that rob people of their lives and freedom, the 15th states that all everybody can vote doesnt matter which color. this is when the government tried to work on equilty for the country it worked.

CONSTITUTION PART B

What do the 6th & 7th Amendments show about US fears of a bad government which would use its powers to unfairly arrest and convict innocent people?

According to the constitution, the sixth amendment states that any body who is accused of committing a crime is allowed to request a prompt and public trial within the district, if the person accused is found guilty, they have to be told what the consequences for their crime will be in front of the witness who testified against them during the trial. The sixth amendment also states that the person accused has to be given the right to a lawyer who will represent them in the case. In the seventh amendment, it states that in all lawsuits that are based on common law, those who are involved have a right to be tried by a jury, and that the jury must have no biased views of the case and those involved, so they’re deciding who is innocent and who is guilty just by the facts they know about the case. the gov't uses its power to convict innocent people. the 2 people who are involved in the case are innocent untill proven guilty. an which shows that they are equal.

What is the Supreme Law of the Land? What is the significance, in your opinion, of the “No religious test” clause?

In the constitution, it is stated that the supreme law of the land is that all of the decisions are made under the authority of the United States of America. It states that there are no religious tests in order for a person to qualify for any job in the office in the US. i like this because it doesnt matter what type of relgion u are you should be able to persue any carrer you want. this shows that america doesnt look at what your believe in. america shows that everybody has a chance to live a life.

Is the 4th Amendment contradicted by MTA, library, and/or airport searches?

According to the constitution, the fourth amendment states that the government is not allowed to search a person’s house or take a person’s items with a good reason and/or a warrant. that is a good thing because if they didnt need a warrant then they would go to everybodys house an find things that they dont want anybody to see. but what the government doesnt tell you is that even though you think there not watching you an your house/ items they actully are when your gone an nobodys at your house they might be lookin through your stuff. like at the air port they go thorugh your things that is a excuse just for them to go through your things while you know bout it.

The “Full Faith & Credit” provision in Article 4. What does that mean for gay marriage?

Article four in the constitution states that congress is responsible for letting each state have their own laws and legal actions, this means that each state can have laws and actions that are different from other states, so what applies in cali, doesn’t necessarily have to apply in new york. which means that every state has a right to make up a few rules of there own. like gay marriage in some states apply. if they live in that state an get married that is allowed to get married only in that state an cant leave that state an expect to still be married. not every state in the U.S has gay marrage laws.

EBAY ATTRACTION

even though i did not participate in the ebay homework. to buy or sell somthing on ebay, i did learn somthing from class what Andy said, about J-bid an hows it a ebay cheat. i didnt find any reason to actully buy somthing only because i didnt find anything that i liked. an i still dont really understand how ebay works. but sooner or later in my life i might buy somthing on ebay an i will never forget the J-bid cheat. if i would have participated in the ebay bidding it would have been a good experience to see how people are so detemined to buy what they want an that goes to show how people are willing to pay more money than what they wanted to just to buy that one thing.

HOW IT FEELS TO BE AN AMERICAN

it is kinda good to live an american way of life only because i think we are already use to it. if we go to another country an see there way of life we wouldnt like it at all because we are to use to ours. but it is not that good to be an american because we have government consprises an the government just keeps trying to find new ways 2 take money from us one way or the other. every body from other country looks at america as a place for freedom an a place to start off fresh but its not if you lifed here for more than 10 years. now im not trying to say that america is a bas place it just has its down falls. the government tries to give us freedom an equilty but they need to work harder on it.
FREEDOM ISNT REALLY FREE.

WAT I THINK ABOUT CAPITALISM

from what i remember from class about capitalism is free market, land, labor, and the invisible hand. there are much more but i cant remember them. but all of them basicly mean capitalism. the big picture is based on distributing and consuming through the hard workers of free markets and there profit motive. Free Market consists of products being sold at a price that is agreed on by the seller as well as the buyer. Supply and Demand depend on each other if the supply in the world or what ever is being sold goes down then the demand from the people will go up. basicly if the supply goes down that mean the price goes down so the demand will go up because now that it is cheaper everybody can buy it now. the invisable hand is sapost to be maintained order in the free market. a free market is to give everybody a chance to compete for money an land etc. capitalism is there to keep the economey at a controlable level.

OBAMA IS A PREZ

everybody in my house was excited my mom jumped for joy. i never seen her do that before in my life. she had me watch the numbers go up for Obama an stay the same for Mccain. that night an the next day i felt so happy to actually be alive to see a black prez. but everybody is putting to much faith into him he is promising to many thing way to early. yeah he says he will change america but it will take a really long time. i was so happy Mccain didnt win because he stands for the same things that bush stands for an basicly while bush was prez america was just getting worst an if he would have became prez it would have just kept going down hill just like bush.

THANKSGIVING DINNER

for thanksgiving i went to my older brothers house all the way in long island because for some reason my family has been falling off the holiday cheer some my mom didn't feel like cooking so we went over there. when we got there it was to late for all the food there was much left so i ate what ever else was left. when we left i called my friend an went over to there house because i was still hungry and they had ever thing. when i left to go home i started thinking about all the familys that couldn't see there familys because they are homeless or they cant find them. when i thought about it i felt bad because i sorta notice how they felt because every year our whole family is together for this big dinner but this year we wasnt.

BLACK FRIDAY

well even though black friday is a day that makes everything cheaper i still dont have the money to buy anything. even the years that i did i still didnt buy anything because i dont really care about shopping that much. after what we heard about that kid dieing from being trampled that should have changed peoples thoughts about rushing to shop. but they was prepared for it so whos failt is it really. i blame the boss that owns the building who told the workers to stand in front of the crowd.
